We are happy to welcome Dr Sebastian Grüneisen to the LFE. From 1 November 2021, he will take up a position as junior professor (with tenure track) “Development of social behaviour in early childhood with a focus on cooperative and prosocial behaviour” at the University of Leipzig. With his successfully acquired Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC), he will also settle at the LFE as an associated research group. With this funding, Sebastian Grüneisen wants to investigate the developmental psychological origins of corruption from a cooperation perspective. To this end, he will conduct cross-sectional and cross-cultural comparative experiments with children, the aim of which is to systematically document the development of corrupt behaviour. Specifically, the project will explore the question of whether the development of basic cooperative skills and motivations, in addition to their socially acceptable effects, can also foster the emergence of ethically problematic behavioural tendencies.
The working groups of the LFE warmly welcome JProf. Dr Grüneisen and look forward to the exchange and cooperation with him and his group.
More information on Sebastian Grüneisen’s previous research can be found here.
